Calling all Local History Fans
As the work of mapping properties that are more than 50 years old in West Vincent Township winds down, some volunteers for that project have been infected with a history bug. Maybe some were already infected and have passed that along to others. Tales of the Underground Railroad, of mining here in the early 1700s, and of sawmills, grist mills, fulling mills, plaster mills, one- and two-room school houses, and a powder mill are fascinating and we want to find a way to learn more and to make this information more available. People have suggested updating the township history, maybe by adding articles on particular topics. Some want to learn the chain of ownership of their places. Some want to have walks around historic areas. Some want lectures on local history. Come help us decide what to do and then make it happen. We meet on the first Monday of the month (unless that's a holiday, when we meet the next day) at the Township Building at 5:30 pm. Call Harriet Stone 610 469 9050 for more information
