About the Event
Are you interested in bird watching but have no idea where to start? Or have you recently taken up birding and would like some help?
Join Valley Forge Audubon Society guides Eric Hughes and John & Patty Werth on this field trip specifically designed for beginning birders.
As we walk through the park looking for birds, we will discuss the basics of birding, including how and where to find birds and what to look for when you find one, bird identification, field guides, bird sounds, and the proper use of binoculars.
The pace of the field trip will be slow to allow for plenty of instruction and questions.
Please bring binoculars if you have them - there will be a very limited number available to borrow. Note that trails are earthen and uneven and may be muddy. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend if accompanied by an adult.
There is a portable restroom available on site.
This program is hosted by the Bird Town Program of West Vincent Township's Environmental Advisory Council and is free and open to the public.
