LOVE NATURE? Give Mother Nature a helping hand along the Weatherstone Trail.
Our March event was such a success, we decided to celebrate Earth Day by once again gathering along the Weatherstone Trail.
This is a young, rich woodland, with plentiful and diverse native plants. These plantscould use our help. Non-native, invasive plants are smothering many of the young oaks and flowers. The good news is- this is easy to fix!
Join us and learn to identify plants along the trail and save baby trees. No strength is needed – it’s best to be gentle and patient with plants! If you have a small woodland at home, this is an excellent chance to learn to care for it.
What to bring, if you have them. We will have extra with usto share.
- Garden gloves
- Pruners or scissors
- Optional but also helpful - loppers
Caution: There is always the chance that you will encounter ticks or poison ivy. Wear a hat, long sleeves, and pants. We will have bug spray with us.
Rain will cancel the event. Participants will be notified via email from Donna Delany. A notice will also be placed on the WVT website and Facebook page in the event of cancellation.
This event is organized by the West Vincent Environmental Advisory Council - Nature Club.
