Asplundh spotted in West Vincent!
Updated: Jan 20, 2022
Yes, those are Asplundh trucks on the roads in West Vincent! After a year-end hiatus, the PECO contractor is back in West Vincent removing dead and dying ash trees that have the potential to interrupt our electrical services. Those trees are mostly along roads, like the one shown.

Originally scheduled for completion by the end of 2021, PECO plans to finish this work by the end of March 2022. Please be patient and careful when you come along those big orange trucks--the crews are doing dangerous work.
Last year, the Township provided PECO with a list which identifies trees that grow too tall to be under wires and suggested acceptable replacement tree and shrub plantings.
The Tree Planting Recommendations List was derived from our Zoning Ordinance and reviewed and approved by the Environmental Advisory Council. A copy can be located on our Public Works and Environmental Advisory Council web pages.
In general, we recommend native species of understory trees and shrubs. This is a good time of year to plan for spring planting! Keep safe and warm.
