Free Paper Shredding - Battery Recycling - Bikes* and Sewing Machines*- Oct 22 - 9-11 a.m.

The West Vincent Sustainability and Clean Energy Transition Team will be holding their annual FREE shredding, battery recycling and clean energy event on Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the West Vincent Township Building parking lot!
Paper Shredding - Bring your documents to be safely and professionally shredded on-site by Proshred Security. There are no limits to the amount of paper you may shred.
Battery recycling requirements - WV Sustainability Committee will have a table to collect: household alkaline batteries (AAA, AA, C, D and 9-volt with taped over terminals), button cell batteries, cell phones, and tablets.
Note: Rechargeable batteries should be dropped off at Lowes, Home Depot etc. Auto or Motorcycle batteries contain electrolytes and should be taken to a local auto repair shop.
Used Bicycles and Sewing Machines - We will also be collecting used bicycles and sewing machines for Pedals for Progress hosted by the Chester County Solid Waste Authority (to be held - at West Goshen Municipal Complex located at 1025 Paoli Pike (entrance on Five Points Rd), West Goshen, PA 19380 on Sunday, October 23, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m., rain or shine). If you are bringing bicycles/sewing machines, please bring a donation toward shipping costs ($20 per donated item, minimum $10) as noted on: Pedals for Progress.


Our Township supports two other Sustainability programs: Unused prescriptions (excluding needles, inhalers, aerosols, or lotions ) managed by WV Police Department in collaboration with RiteAid and KidCents and old prescription glasses managed by Lions Club. Drop off boxes are located in the lobby of the Township Building.
